Hopefully these pictures will come out ok. These are the photos are the same ones I sent to dvla to get my van registered as a motor caravan. It is not finished by a long way (only problem is wife wants more room)

Sorry for the mess with the photos. I wanted to show these plus several others of the cupboards and the skylight because these are the same photos I sent to dvla and they altered my van to a motor caravan. I did include a paragraph on the back of each picture describing the picture (hope that last sentence make sense?)

I know the feeling..... I have not even finished and have decided that I want to do another in a Transit Jumbo ! I stood in one yesterday and had about 4" of space between my head and the roof and I am 6'2 ! I cant stand up in my Minibus conversion so may end up just selling it when finished. The height didn't bother me before coz the missus can stand up in it to cook

Were the side windows already in the van or did you fit/have them fitted ?

Hi, I fitted them myself. At first I was a bit worried at cutting a hole in the side of my van, but once you start you have to carry on! They were easier than I worried about!

That's food for thought then for the next project as I have found vans without the windows already in are a lot cheaper...

Think we are "Conversion Junkies" lol

If you look at this window you can see the shape of the body edged in black? This is the inner body skin edge and a lot small than the size of the glass . You are cutting out to this edge then you install the glass from the outside to the body shape (oblong) it leaves a wide margin 2/3 inches in places which you apply the glue/pu/mastic, then tape into place. Hope I have explained it properly sorry if I haven't. :?

Nice looking Kitchen unit Jonnyboy!

I had Chris from Vanbond come and fit my windows, charged £650 for two side and two rear. The cheapest I could find the glass for was £400, but you would need to add on the sealant, primer, beading etc.

Watching him do it, I reckon that it is easily possible to do it yourself but you would need some pretty big balls.

I'm always thinking "Yes, I could do that and save some money if it all goes to plan". It's when something goes wrong that ends up costing you a lot more, that you wish you had left it to a pro.
