Crew van conversion

Postby Honda415 » Sat Apr 14, 2018 4:16 pm

Ok gents a few questions.
Got some old ldv minibus seats i want to put into the van hows best to mount them?
What size reinforcement plate/spacers are required to ensure the bolts dont pull through in case of any incidents.
What bolt and nut size and thread should i use to secure through the floor?
Also as i have a steel bulkead which will be removed will the overhead storage strength be compromised when i remove it?
Thank you for any advice ash

Bulkhead removal shouldn't affect the over cab shelf... Least it hasn't on our Ex mess bus Jumbo camper.

The seats in the hicube minibus (which itself was professionally converted from a van) we converted had plates underneath which measured approx 50mm square and 3mm thick, with 10mm bolts. If it's LDV seats you have they're likely to have 10mm bolt holes in them, but to be sure I would fit them with the biggest bolts that will fit, and get at least 10.8 tensile strength.
