insurance with a webasto or similar?

Postby nhughes » Tue Jun 26, 2018 9:56 am

Hi,

Is a webasto or other diesel heater something that the insurance will need to know about, and if so is it likely to increase premiums?

Thanks
Nick

Let them know, because it will affect the value of the camper. It shouldn't increase your premium, after all heating is a reasonable addition, but if you need to make a claim it's worth them knowing that it's part of the camper.

I’ve had self built campervans for over35 years and have never been asked what’s built into the van and only on my last van did it go down as camper in build just had to notify them when logbook changed to motor caravan

thanks, it's a 2016 Transit Custom Trend, for use as a mini sleeper, however I just realised that if I fit a swivel kit to the passenger seats I can't for the heater or batteries.

Is that because it’s a two passenger seat? I only ask as my Wellhouse has swivel seats with heater underneath
