Transit box van into log cabin on wheels

Postby gasbo » Fri Jul 30, 2010 10:41 pm

I've recently bought an EX bt old box van 1991 with 64k on the clock which has been converted to run on gas..the previous owner fitted it 2 years ago[tinley tech] and thats why i bought it without seeing it...why would anyone convert a bag of shite if you get what i mean? so bought it for £720

Anyway the box is made of what they use for chiller vans..non metallic but i intend to use 8mm tongue and groove timber to line it on inch batons with some sort of other insulation like celotex to fill the spaces. This is going to be an all year round camper.I might even put timber ship lap on the outside to make it look like a reaL LOG CABIN ON WHEELS..there are a few of these trucks on American roads albeit alot larger than i'm planning.

I cant see the point in cluttering the inside up like most campers seem to be..incidently its 9ft by 6ft and 6ft 4inches high.
A bed ,a cooker, fridge and a sink with maybe a shower tray and shield..the water for the shower will come from a manual spray pump.

more to follow
