Started dayvan/campervan conversion

Postby bttransit » Fri Jul 30, 2010 9:57 pm

Well i started my conversion this week so i thought i would put up a few pics, this is my new van i picked it up for £350 with 1 months mot and no tax 101,000 miles loads of service history recent brakes and cambelt done

Image Image Image

When i bought it i knew it needed a fair bit of welding but then i got carried away with the screwdriver and holes started appearing everywhere lol

i ended up welding most of both inner sills aswell but its all done now :D

 ... I was just going to say what a clean van it was, then I scrolled down... I had the same thing before, looked great on top was feck on the bottom! That said, being a ford man, I never seem to learn!

Hi, congrats on a super job of welding. I live in France and have a 1981 campervan which has vertually no rust. However one of the front spring joists needs a plate welded on. Have visited a few local body shops but you would think I wanted the whole front end welding buy their reactions. Something I miss about blighty, is the fact there are thousands of of small gararges willing to help.
Regards Rich.
