A Bit @Ford Panel Van Restauration ....

Postby Ecleo » Fri Apr 19, 2013 10:17 am

Hello,

After owning a view years a Ford A Series Panel Van from 1977 I have now the time and some funds to start restauring
it a little.

A same type was also used in a Movie:

First I have to get an APK (MOT) on the car so I can do some TLC at the back of my house.
The steering house was bust, and I was lucky to find a scrapyard with two A series.

The hood of the enginebay was very rusted and on one of these was a good one.
Also could find some other nice bits, but because of lake of time I could not get it all.

I already had restore two of the wheels, so I could swoop them for 2 that had to be done also.
Taking them apart took some sweat:

We swooped the steering gear, wheels and fixed the lights and loosened the brake system.
Well the brake system is a nice peace of work, working on it was a joy.
At first I had some second thoughts about the Van because of its condition, but the way the Van is constructed it is a joy to work on.
Oké it will take some time because of the state it's in, but I think it's worth it.

Congratulations with your purchases ...

Sadly A series parts are hard to come by.
I don't have any spares at the moment.

Maybe some from a Transit will fit?
