Ford A 0510 V6

Postby galaxieman » Fri Jan 02, 2015 11:36 pm

Hello, I'm new here and have a few questions.
I have a Ford A 0510 with a V6 in it and people tell me that it is an 2.8 V6 and want to know if these engines where available in 1978, I think it is an 3.0 V6 Essex.
It is hard to find pictures of that model and was wandering how about the parts, are they the same as a Transit ?
I live in the Netherlands.
Here is an picture of mine.

if you read on wikipedia there are available only essex V4 or V6, also here http://www.fomcc.de/a_serie.htm the same thing.
and if you search about essex on wikipedia you will find that

It was produced in four capacities, 2.5 L (2495cc) (153ci), 3.0 L (2994cc) (183ci), 3.1 L (3098cc) (189ci), 3.4 L (3412cc) (207ci)

If you can post a picture o fht engine i could tell yu what you have . one easy way to distinguish is that the german 2.8 has the distributor at the back , and the british 3.0 has it at the front.
