A0609 Tipper. Free to a good home *GONE*

Postby Stuart T » Sat May 14, 2016 9:48 am

I have a N plate ('74 i think?) A0609 tipper that needs a new home.

It is in poor condition but may be of interest as a parts vehicle or for restoration.

It still has it's original 6 cylinder York Diesel but it hasn't run for some time. The cab has extensive rot in the floor and the scuttle. The chassis looks usable and the tipper body looks salvageable.

To the best of my knowledge it is complete (except for the parts of the cab which have rotted away!!). If my memory serves me correctly everything worked when it was parked up which I think was probably over 10 years ago!

We are just outside of Bristol. Obviously the vehicle cannot be driven and I would advise against towing. It would probably be best to move it on a transporter or similar.

The vehicle is free to collector because it would be a shame to cut it up as it may be useful for parts or restoration but if there are no takers unfortunately it will have to go. This is the same vehicle that I offered last August but unfortunately the people who were going to have it were busy with other projects and seem to have lost interest.

Please note that I am not familiar with these vehicles so it would probably be best if anyone who is interested comes to have a look. I am not working for a week from Tuesday (17th June) so if anyone who is interested would like to come and have a look I'm sure we can find a mutually convenient time from Tuesday afternoon onwards.

If there is any more info or anything specific anyone would like to know please just ask and I'll do my best to let you know. I can send pics if needed, but please note the vehicle is offered as is and I will not break it.

Hi there,
We have just bought a 1978 Ford A series Fire engine for restoration. It has the V6 petrol engine.
it needs quite a lot of work and some parts are missing. I would be interested in looking at your vehicle if it is still available. I am also based in Bristol.
Regards,
Alex Bevan
