First Transit, first van, I'm a newbie!

Postby euanryan » Sat Jan 14, 2017 3:47 pm

Hey guys,

Thought I'd stick a post up in here to introduce myself and explain my situation.

I'm a climber and mountaineer, run my own company taking photos and filming various aspects of the outdoors.

Recently bought an ex BT Transit swb, 57 plate with a full service history albeit a slightly higher than average mileage (140k).

I'm planning on making it my own, for travelling, climbing and general van-age.

Not planning on a full camper conversion but it will definitely be getting sleeping quarters of some kind.

Anyway, I'll probably have a lot of questions (I'm not super car savvy at the best of times, let alone on a van) which I hope aren't too ridiculous. Please bear with me and feel free to tell me when I'm being stupid...

Currently in the middle of removing the racking which is proving to be a nightmare (heavy, metal and rounded bolts...)!

Thanks!

Euan

Welcome to the forums.

I joined when I started converting my SWB transit. Older than yours so I had a lot of welding for the MOT. But you'd get a ton of advice from here.

I think i have a patch that needs dealt with behind the bulk head but apart from that it was MOT'd in October so I'm hoping there's nothing else significant!

Hi, welcome along. :)
