New to the world of Transits

Postby bordx8 » Mon Aug 07, 2017 6:29 am

Hi, I am a first time transit owner.
Bought one for for hauling my motorbikes around the countryside.
Got sick of the trailer and wanted to be able to throw everything into a van.
I have a 2000 VG Turbo Diesel/Manual complete with the original tape deck!! (had to go looking for some tapes in my storage boxes)
Anyway, nice to be here and hopefully you good people can help me out with any transit issues that come up. Cheers.

Hi. Thanks for the welcome.
Yeah...I thought about changing it, but it has been fun listening to tapes I haven't heard for years.
I thought about buying a few more tapes, but the prices online scared me off. Apparently they are "collectors" items now (the good ones anyway). lol.

Hi matey, I assume your an Australian, tapes are becoming expensive due to the fact nobody makes the actual tape that goes in them anymore (I know as I used to work in the recording industry) anyway enjoy your van. N

Your assumption is correct.
Probably will just put a new stereo in there when I get around to it.
The radio works fine, and I don't do that many km's in the van, and usually have a passenger to talk to as well.
Cheers.

Well a mate of mine had a spare unit, and he put it in when I wasn't looking.
So...no more tapes for me.
It is now either Radio or USB/Phone input only. Not even a CD player!!!
