anyone dealt with the Transit Centre, Dudley?

Postby John&Diane » Sat Nov 04, 2017 12:38 pm

Hi

We have just bought a MK3 transit based Holdsworth Future camper...with no service history.
it needs a cambelt doing and bits of tidying up where cills, door edges etc are starting to blister and go and seals have gone hard and split. We dont want a full restoration job, just to be rust-free and structurally sound. We can do the insides ourselves but cant weld.
Has anyone dealt with the Transit Centre at Dudley or can recommend a backstreet garage who would do a good sympathetic job on an older vehicle, (1987) and are happy for secondhand or pattern parts to be used, whether supplied by us or sourced by them etc.
within about 40 miles of Rugeley, Staffordshire? Thanks

the thing with welding you start them then it snowballs in to a bigger job

realy you need to get quotes from many people and get them to look at it probley not just over the phone

because jobs like these can take months to complete

once they start the job :( :( :( as you find more and more as you start cutting away and replacing

The Transit center are great for parts but I’m not sure they’d really take this on as it’s a project that’s going to require a lot of thought and time. The Transit centre are very much a quick turnaround place.
They’re certainly worth a ring for parts though, they’ve got a good inventory there and you’re always welcome to go look round their yard, that said, it’s mainly mk6’s they have lying around now.
