Hi,
I'm Tom, general builder. Bought my first mk6 transit on impulse buy when my ducato's gearbox finally ceased being a productive part of the drivetrain. My impulse buy introduced me to the metering solenoid leak, which I eventually managed to replace! I'm used to working on my BMW E30, so it was an introduction into the kind of car mechanics most people deal with. I enjoy the way the transit drives, but the gearbox perhaps doesn't enjoy my style, as my first transit lasted about a year and a half...I had toyed with the idea of changing the transmission, but there wasn't enough good to say about the van that would warrant the investment.
The new Transit seems to have fuel pump failure, so I'm hoping I can swap the pump from the old to the new! The new transit I hope to keep for a good while as it's a great condition Mk6!
