Hello from Norwich-just about to buy Welfare Van

Postby iansmall » Tue Jun 12, 2018 12:00 am

Evening All,

The last Forum i was on was Vw T4 forum but come to my senses and want a proper big van!
I borrowed a friend's ex-welfare van (LWB Med roof) and realised I wanted a Hi-top. Possibly even a jumbo.

considering these 3 and more

hR LWB welfare:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-transit ... 1438.l9372

HR LWB welfare
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Transit ... 1438.l9372

Hr jumbo ex-police van
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/06-06-FORD-T ... 1438.l9372

The only one Ive seen so far, the guy 'forgot' to mention it was a Cat S. Good start and thank God for HPI

Any advice gratefully received. Always wanted to do my own van and looking forward to getting started

Did you do it all yourself?

Barring the ply lining and insulation that was already fitted as were the windows...
Rest of it was mostly done over 3 weekends then progress tailed off as we started using it lol.

Cooking is all electric (microwave /kettle /slow cooker /toaster etc)
From a 3000w inverter powered by 3 x 100ah leisure batteries charged via a durite VSR and 2 x 100w solar panels.
