Donations of cash

Postby Luke » Thu Sep 30, 2010 11:08 pm

As well as the parts donations we get we will need to buy some parts/materials for the van to finish it off to the high standard we want :)

so i've set up a new paypal account just for this project the paypal address is

projectvan@fordtransit.org

if you want to make a small donation feel free to send one across :D

i believe if you select gift as an option then you dont pay commision :? ive just tested it from my own paypal account and it looks that way :D

Remember this is all going to charity

please note - this account is completly seperate to the forum and has no financial connection to it :!: 100% of the money given here will go to charity either via parts purchased for the van to enhance it's sale value for the charity or if there is any money left over that will be donated too :D

no one has donated money yet but it's early stages :D

i have another cunning plan to raise some cash for the project

i've just set up an ebay account  eBay listings

The idea is everyone can donate parts we will list them on that ebay account (send me a description and a photo i'll list them)
then when they sell the buyer can pay via paypal (the ebay account is connected to the project van paypal account) and then i will put them in touch with the forum member who is selling the item and they can arrange collection
so any unwanted parts you have which would not be any good used on the project we can list them on here

good idea :?: ............. tbh i've not fully thought it through (i was gonna test it 1st)- i'm not sure of all the ebay rules etc. but if someone wanted something posting i can see a problem as it would cost the member donating the part money to post it - or can we say collection only :?:

There you go Luke, just done a donation to start it off..!

You can make all the items collect only or chuck a few quid on top of the selling price / reserve and arrange postage from the donation account through an online carrier (try myhermies etc) or order the post office system easy enough - all the regular e-bayers on here should know how..

Regards,

Steve

i was going to try it out with a lwb mk4 pickup mirror ive got - but i couldnt find it in all the boxes of crap ive got

what i've done is written a generic write up to add to every listing that explains the ebay sale is for charity and what it's all about this is it

The proceeds of this sale will be going to fund the Ford Transit forum weekend project, the aim of the project will be to restore and modify an MOT failure 1992 Ford transit mk4. The van will be fitted with a Rover V8 engine and have the body extended and a 3rd axle fitted. This will all be done over a weekend. Once the van has been built it will be on show at Transitmania 2011 and after the show auctioned off and the proceeds donated to charity.

For more details please visit http://www.fordtransit.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=63

The items for sale here are donated by members of the Transit Forum to help build up funds for the project.

Please pay via PayPal as that will go into the PayPal account for the project and collect the item from the forum member

right the mk1 transit wheel didn't sell for 99p  :(

but i listed an old mk2 escort van door and that has made £11.50 8)http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MESOX:IT
unfortunatly i listed it on my own ebay account  but i will transfer the money over :D

so if anyone has any unwanted items they would like to donate then email me a picture and a description and i'll list them :D
