Hi - I cant see if this has been discussed, but, have we decided who the beneficiary of our labours will be?

good point 8) what we'll do is get some suggestions in this thread and put it to the vote

personally i dont have a preferance - but it would be nice (as all being well it'll be a large amount) to see it go to a smaller charity or cause that would appreciate it more :!:

so if you have a cause you have interest in post the details :D

help for heroes is a very worth wile cause :!: but our donation would be just a drop in the ocean to the amount they get - where as if we could do something like send a terminally ill child on a holiday to disneyland, or something like that then i just think it would be a nice thing to do :D

My mate lost his son to childhood luekeamia at 11 yrs old ,,we have done stuff to raise money in the past for the charity which helps terminal kids, helping them out with making their final days fun ( i cant find any better terminology) with funds we,ve raised in the past with events like THE FULL MONTY ,,lands end john o` groats marathon walks ,plus more one night events like our crap band  past funds have paid for kiddies to go to disneyland amongst other stuff,,our last event was 17th september when me and my mates did a gig in dudley,,we made around £1000 with all the admissions and prizes etc

I think it should be a national charity rather than a local, no arguments on where the money has gone then... A national charity will help to publicise the auction too

How about the Muscular Destrophy group? or the Snowdon Award Scheme? The snowdon charity are great, the charity gave me my first electric wheelchair which changed my life, they also helped me go to a college for the disabled. They truely do life changing work and i can never repay what the charity did for me.

charitys are big business there are
"over 180000 registered charitys with a total income of more than £52 billion"
so there's plenty to chose from
"more than 50 charity chief executives received between £100,000 and £210,000 last year. In one case, a charity paid its chief executive nearly £400,000."
and try to find one that doesn't spend donated monies on sending unsolicited pens to every mailing list they can get hold of :evil:they wind me up :x people struggle and go with out to fund some of these large organisations :( they get the cash and think lets send everyone a free pen

you can look them up here but it doesn't give much away

I work for a local children's charity and no one gets a payment other than expenses, there must be a national charity out there that deserves it...

Whatever it is. Please let it go to humans rather than the RSPCA. :)

You could always personalise it but that brings in a lottery element, and usually the ones without publicity are the ones who need it most.
