Just had first intrerim service done ( 15,000 ) by main dealer and the price was £41.00 plus vat ( inc parts and labour )
The cost of a major service on my service plan is £150.00 plus vat ( inc parts and labour )

if it's a new van, do you not need to have it serviced by ford to keep the warranty cover ?

very true but you do have to use filter and their specific oils and prove as well 0 and have to be a vat registered company which is a load of bollocks  as iv just done a insurance job for a warranty company, and i aint vat registered but i had to guarantee the work as i always do anyway :D so if it fails i have to foot the bill but i used new parts with 12 months warranty which then the cost falls to the supplier not be

I've just looked on FordEtis....as said up-stream, it's a "15K Interim Check" no fluids or filters are replaced.

The "2 year/30k Major Service" does not include fuel filter or brake fluid replacement, they are additional labour items....so what do you actually get on a fixed price "Service Schedule" apart from an empty pocket :?:

If your new Transit has a full service record i.e. 15000 then 30000 and so on then it entitles you to FORD ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE cover which would normally cost around £120 for the same cover through the AA for a vehicle used for business purposes,if you miss a service then you have to sort your own breakdown cover out.

Hahaha....we retain the right to refuse a request for roadside assistance if the customer refuses to pay for a scheduled service that excludes the vehicle having it's service parts replaced.

If the engine oil & filter have been changed then IMO it costs what it costs....I don't doubt there will be a marketing campaign indicating that 30k servicing represents lower owning costs - that's all well & good if you sell the van before the engine gives in....an Interim Inspection (the one that some people are calling a 15k service) is nothing more than an additional source of revenue, if an apprentice does 3 inspections per hour what's the revenue per hour?

What do you get with Ford Roadside Assist?....do they transport you, your vehicle & your passengers to any destination on mainland blighty or do you go directly to the nearest 100 notes /hour repair facility?

Never say never....but I don't envisage buying a vehicle in the near future that's had 30k servicing & a perceived shorter life expectancy. :(
