New 64 Reg Re-mapping

Postby Dr Fettish » Wed Nov 01, 2017 9:05 pm

Good evening all Transit owners, enthusiasts.

I've just splashed out and bought myself a newer Transit, a 64 reg 2.2 98BHP L3H3 Transit and I'm dead happy with what I've bought, but here's the question. It's a bog standard 98 brake and today I've spoken to a remapping specialist about boosting my new steed a little, he came back with, "Is 180 bhp ok???". After choking on my coffee and asking the question again he replied, "I've done loads of them and can go to 195 if you want", my reply was, "I'm happy with 125-135".

So here's my question to you all, do I go for 180 or 125 or leave it well alone?? All I want is a bit more power.

Thank you for reading and I await your answers

Go for 155 as yours is the same exact engine as the 125 and 155, that way you will still be within the designed limits of the hardware that ford designed it for.
And yes remappers are extracting up to 180bhp but that going over the limits of the engine, trans and rear diff.

This company reckons 200bhp is safely within tolerances for the engine... http://www.ecovehicletuning.co.uk/vehic ... 4/stage-3/

I kinda wish I hadn't shelled out on a 155bhp version now! Not sure it's worth the extra on top of that.

Hi
forget power - fuel economy is King for me. The cost of diesel comes from my wallet. Is there a map for economy?
cheers Kev
