A long anti-perforation warranty for extra reassurance

As a measure of the vehicle’s built quality, the Transit comes with a 12-year anti-perforation warranty as standard.

I would like to see fords warranty that. Excuses being stone chips

Rust Perforation Coverage applies to perforation due to corrosion only. Perforation is a rust-through condition, such as an actual hole in a sheet metal panel. Cosmetic or surface corrosion, such as that caused by stone chips or scratches in the paint, is not covered under this warranty.

I will be checking Ford warranty in a few weeks, tempted to get a hidden camera to film the guy telling me that the stars are out of alignment etc.

Although he may well honor it and fix my Van and i leave with happy thoughts :D

I've got a 2017 model and looked underneath and was surprised to see it appears to be without a special coat. Compared with my mondeo mk5 which is covered in a protective underseal type coating. I think I'll spray it all with stone chip from aerosols

cheapest price I was given was £ 450 .00 to under seal my standard transit so borrowed a compressor purchased 8 tins of Shultz and a Shultz gun got van up on ramps back up first then front end up several months later took it for mot tester said the amount of under seal under here must have cost me a fortune as it was well covered everywhere when I told him I did it my self for well less than £ 100.00 he said I was joking no cost me less than £ 100.00 al you need is a well vented space a wide driveway will do fine a sett of good ramps wire brush Shultz and a Shultz gun and a dry day and can I say paint spraying im crap but under my van with Shultz I did not make any mess at all not even any an the floor only surface rust brushed of with wire brush the hardest part of the hole job was getting the compressor :D :D :D

I did the areas where the box sections overlap and virtually everywhere I could reach whilst wriggling about underneath it . I didn't take the spare wheel off so I haven't done that area, the spray was quite accurate so I haven't daubed the pipes . Ideally I'd like to get it on a ramp

Yeah, they use "insulation oils" here too. And indeed it's a messy process.

ps.: don't rely on warranty, they will waddle their way out of it.
