has it some sort of oil quality sensor that makes it start bleeping ?
hows that work then ? has it got a viscosity testing lobotomy in there or somink?
and how do you reset it ?
my old boss used to pull his dip stick out rub the oil between his fingers then taste it. he did that every time a machine came back in the dirty f*** :P

I read that the dip stick has been modified because they changed the amount of oil (added more) so in theory it'll get dirty slower.

Pair of tin snips and chop the end off then is it?

Remember those fancy electronic dip sticks on the old Sierra? You'd have to be a mechanic to understand that kind of witchcraft :?

Finally found a post with the exact same issue as myself. I'm using the same model vehicle as a taxi and have had pretty much a carbon copy of the same issues.

My local Ford are clueless as to the problem so have been just resetting the oil light and handing the vehicle back, however I've had to pay for all of my oil changes.
The only thing they have suggested, is due to being a taxi with lots of start-stops, that could be affecting the oil life and suggested relying on the auto start-stop to resolve it. I've now "relied" on that for the last 10k+ with absolutly no difference.

Further to all those fun and games, at almost 30k I've had an error appear saying my AdBlue system has malfunctioned and the vehicle will no longer start in 495 miles, which may be related.

Currently I'm waiting on Ford Assist to take my vehicle back for warranty yet again. But have just phoned Ford customer service to report the issue and waiting on a call back.

HI THERE. After long searches i finally found the same problems I've got.

So have the same problem with my taxi ford turneo custom 2017 euro 6 2.0 diesel.
I've bought it in April 2017 and since then i have done 16127 miles and 6 visits to the local dealer.
first time the light came on at 1800 miles than 3700 miles - 6300 miles - 12300 miles and finally 15500 miles.
first at 1800 I've reset by myself from the system with the buttons from the steering wheel.
at 3700 miles they changed the oil, filter and dip stick and they re-calibrated the system and will be no problem.
this is a different problem - At 4000 gone back - clutch slippery. after a few trips they change it on warranty and once again the oil and filter at 6300 miles and the same thing they re-calibrated the system
at 12300 I had same problem oil change required soon and a squiking noise front left wheel - pads gone with no warning lights come on - nothing! o yes this is a good one - the sensor its on the inside and the pads are worn on the outside. anyway i slowed that and said its no point arguing whit monkeys and chance front and back pads!! back to oil light they said that they change again oil and filter and they re-calibrated the system It should be done - this I did-int believe that they change the oil! it was bulsh -ittt.
last time last week call them again with the warning light "oil change required soon" it transform after 400 miles in "oil change required". today had the appointment to resolve this issue. after 4 h they said the van is ready - asked what they did - they re-calibrated the system...4 h???? :x :x :x :x the problem is that the bigger mouth u have they sort/change/treat different!!! the same care problems and issues in 26000k miles they cahnge oil and filter 8 times (at least is what they said).

I've got pissed of and call the ford assistance - the answer is unbelievable - until Vospers Plymouth find a problem/fault they cant resolve/fix anything.

This thing should be resolve somehow - I am paying £38039 in 5 years for this car! after 5 payments still own over £33000 and seems to me that I'm paying for problems not for the reliable new car that I want to do my business! people is outrages!! :x :x :x :x

Ford are doing the oil changes at their cost, so at least the engine is getting well looked after!

Ive tried adding the attachment in PDF,RAR and DOC, but keep getting told I cant upload those extensions.
If anyone requires the full TSB PM me and ill email it.

FORD issues TSB for the premature oil warning.
Print it off and take it in to your dealer.

The 2.0L EcoBlue TDCi stage VI engine is fitted with an oil life monitoring system that informs
the customer/driver when the engine oil life is depleted and requires changing. Service intervals
are up to 60,000 km (36,000 mi) or 2 years for all EcoBlue engines fitted to Transit Custom
2012.75 and Transit 2014.5 (Turkey market only: 20,000 km or 1 year).

If a customer reports that the “Oil change required” information message is displayed in the
instrument cluster, the engine oil and oil filter should be replaced and FordEtis IDS must be
connected to determine whether or not a rework involving an updated engine oil level dipstick
and/or a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) calibration is also required.

I've had a my mk8 2 litre from new in 2016 it came up with the oil change needed at 8 k so I took it to the dealer and they changed it. Now at 18k it's come back on. The oil change is supposed to be at 36k!. I've booked it into ford again

Took mine to the dealers again at 19 k for an oil change and filter, they did some software update as it now shows a message "exhaust filter cleaning" when on regen. now though it's got very little power below 1500 and sometimes takes a few seconds to respond to the throttle, i've even stalled it a few times since

I have a 2017 Transit Custom. At 5000 miles the change oil light came on and I paid for the oil and filter change myself.

It came on again at 13000 miles then i took it to Ford and they changed the oil and filter updated the software and sent me on my way.

Today at 17000 miles it came on again so I took it back to Ford, they changed the oil and filter again and then told me its not covered under warranty as its oil degredation down to my driving style.

I refused to pay the bill and contacted the Customer Relationship Center once again, lets see what tomorrow brings...

Does it really need an oil change after 5000 miles or should i just reset the message myself next time with the thinking that if there is a problem the light will come on again pretty fast
