You must have the 100 litre tank ?
no just an 80litre

i struggled to get anywhere near that with a mk7 155 euro5 & that had the 100 litre tank ! Always found it was over geared to the point you couldn't go through 50mph road works in 6th gear & city driving was awful, you couldn't go at walking speed in 2nd & 1st was to low. What speed/load are you doing to get this figure ?

I once had 640 miles to a tank from my old 2001 75 ps semi high van.
If ford quote a certain mpg for new vans then it should include the vans with towing axles, a lot of these figures seem massively inflated compared to what a lot say they are getting in the real world.

Had 43mpg going to St Ives from Derby (300kg load camping) - Set off really early & wasn't in any rush (slow lane all the way) with light traffic. Mk 8 H2L2 155. Down to 34mpg coming back though. I have to say the mpg has improved a lot with 40k miles on it.

Agree with this. Too high geared I mainly use 5th unless I in a rush where you can sit comfortably in 6th at 2k revs which can get you pulled otherwise it just seems to be labouring so use 5th & keep the revs up. I don't really think the economy is suffering by not using 6th as it's to high unless you are really pressing on. 2nd & 3rd in slow traffic & islands are awful if not dangerous. It's thrash it in second or nothing in 3rd till it hits 1600. Flat as anything low down. Needs a lower final drive. I don't carry much weight either.

while doing 800+ miles 99% motorway in the last 2 days I thought I would do a bit of mpg testing in my mk8 jumbo euro 5 2.2 , so on the first day I stuck at 72 mph in 6th which is just a touch over 2000rpm and averaged 34 mpg , 2nd day I stayed in 5th doing 58mph which again is just over 2000rpm and averaged 41mpg , how can this be ? when I put it in 6th it looses 7mpg but the engine is revving at the same speed , the wind resistance will be more obviously but 7mpg ?

What’s the easiest way to find out your diff ratio? Is is stamped on a plate somewhere or does it require some dismantling?

i was only saying what an old girl can achieve being a euro 3 :P

the euro 5 2.2 are not the best engines

and the new euro 6 2.0 litre adblue are not the best either, i look after a 2017 its just had its first oil change, but it keeps going back to ford for the ad-blue faults :(

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I'm curious too :?:
2013 Connect Trend Mk1 Facelift 90bhp T230 High Roof, LWB (a blank canvass)
2014 Transit Trend Mk8, L2H2 RWD 350, 155bhp (now traded for the above)
2008 Connect Mk1 75bhp, EGR Delete, remapped to 100bhp (still in the family)
