Just got a new van, looking for some advice

Postby Kranvan » Tue Apr 04, 2017 5:59 pm

Hi guys, first time transit owner, impressed so far. Just a few questions. Is there an easy way to upgrade the rear load area lights to leds? Anyone used the wire in yourself leds available on amazon or is there an easier way?
Also what app do I need to get podcasts to play off my iPhone when connected by USB lead to the radio? It automatically sent me to the AppStore but all the apps looked sh*t to say the least. I use Apples own podcast app.

1st thing to do it add more security.

Dead locks to side and rear doors with an alarm.
Change drivers door lock
Hide OBD socket or lock it up
Steering wheel lock.

Don't really need any of those where I live. Van is with me on site all day, countryside locations with security on site and at night it's at my house in the quite countryside with two big dogs watching it.

I literally don't know anyone who has had their van broken in to. I work and live in rural Ireland, Co.Cork to be exact, 45 mins from the nearest city. I've been in the UK numerous times and have seen vans covered in ugly exterior locks, you very very rarely see those over here, our criminals are too lazy to go to the effort of breaking in to a van.

I ordered 2 of thesehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401089962569 and just took out the lamp in the back and connected this.
Actually I just put 1 strip up, as it looks like there is an UFO landing outside when it lights up! They are powerful!

There are 2 wires to connect, no big deal. Remeber if it doesn't work, try the other way... Worked for me :)
