Engine gone pop

Postby cornishpasty » Sat Jul 01, 2017 9:19 pm

2.2 125 puma only 47000 miles serviced main dealer at 30000 next scheduled 60000 but obviously needs sorting now.
Was travelling along and felt slight miss no warning lights carried on and in less than a mile missed worse with blue grey smoke behind
Service now came on screen with engine malfunction and traction control lights and died.
That was the end no go any more.
Lifted bonnet and oil blown out of valve cover and front crank seal a bloody fine mess.
Will have to wait and see how long this takes to sort out as can not see it being quick

I can't see any way they can dispute the warranty, so it should be dealt with promptly :?

Keep us posted please :)

Found out today which dealer it has gone to and do not have much hope of an early return.
In the past one of our vans was there for 3 weeks for a throttle pedal under warranty !!!!!!

Might be worth a call to customer services at Ford. It's possible that this will focus their attention

Well on the 6th they actually looked at it and then parked it up.
Office rang and asked for news on the 12th and was told engine needed changing but not ordered yet.
Apparently according to them it is very complicated and some one else has to order the engine.
How bloody hard can it be its fooked and needs new engine, end of story warranty appears crap at delivering good service.
Still waiting.
We know when ignition is cycled as on tracker which they will not know!!!

And another week goes past and they have not sorted it.

Even kerbside motors could have fixed it long before now.

Trouble is it is a lease vehicle and Ford customer services will only talk through registered owner.!!!

Started to miss and within a mile oil smoke behind missing worse and stopped with lots of warning lights.

Engine blew oil out through valve cover and out front crankshaft seal.
