Roof-rack

I’ve just ordered a mk8 transit and asked for a roof rack. But been told that ford don’t offer a roofrack for the mk8. So do you have to buy a aftermarket roof-rack, or do the new mk8 not allow for them.

Hi - don't know if Ford do their own, but yes the Mk8 can certainly take a roof rack, and there are plenty available. The roof rack bolts into holes on the roof, and their are placements for up to 4 roof bars. I bought a Rhino two bar aluminium roof rack for mine. Excellent thank you for that, I’ve looked on eBay and seen mk8 roof racks, but was thinking if fords don’t do them or sell them was they just bolted to the van some how.
Was also thinking if they don’t sell them can they now even be fitted not knowing if they have stopped them on the newer ones. I hope my van will have the holes ready for one to be fixed or I’ve got a problem for my ladders but I won’t know for 18 weeks
I know they did one for the mk7 transit because I have one on my van
