Exhaust fumes in the cab?

Postby Spiders Web » Fri Feb 23, 2018 12:11 am

Hi all I'm Spider a new forum member.

I currently drive daily a 2017 lwb transit van 2 side doors and 2 rear doors.
I've recently been taken down by possible carbon monoxide poisoning (potentially from the van) having experienced exhaust type fumes in the cab.
The van has been looked at and the only thing found was that the oil was filled above the mark.

Someone touched on the length of the exhaust pipe, but I would appreciate any additional, reasonable suggestions as to what might be a possible cause

Many thanks
Spider!

Hi
Cant help much but I’ve just swopped from Mk7 to '65 Mk8. Same roads, same driver, same driving style and I have become aware of occasional fumes – just put it down to traffic.

I have had no problems with my van but I was surprised that the exhaust pipe does not come out the back of the van I had a problem with my mk6 when I got it but it was because of the holes in the floor left over from the racking that had been removed by the previous owner if I opened a window when driving it was worse but when I sealed the holes it cured it I’d have a look at the door seats maybe if you can get holed of one the smoke generates and see if any smoke escapes to see where it is getting into the van they used one on wheeler dealers a bit back to find a water leak

We have had that problem while towing in June and there was another near us having similar problems. Can we swap information?
