I wonder if the towing axle would help
It’s a shame because from the reviews fords seem to have got the gearing wrong

I was thinking fitting a 3.7 instead of the 3.1 it has now .i was also thinking maybe they are so high geared for emissions maybe the government test is set at something like 50 mph so lower revs it’s running the emissions will be lower

I know people that work smaller vans and I have no idea how they do it. I like to put my pipe inside the van rather than outside.

Me too, I've had to make a draw out of ply to house my pipe but I have to cut it down as the load length in the mk7 is around 2500mm. That's one of the reasons for me wanting to change and the fact that I can't get in the van properly when I've got a lot of tiling gear in the back.

Is you mk7 a low roof.
I’ve got a mwb m/r and pipe fits in that at high level, with the storage bit above the cab taken out

Yes its a low roof swb but its a great van it just isn't big enough any more unfortunately. Once I've decided to buy one I'll sell it privately too. I think the only route left for me now is to buy a brand new one as i don't think I would be happy with used.

Really good price actually as I got one that's pre-registered. Just called my local ford dealer on the offchance they may have some in. I went for the L2 H2 290 as I think this is big enough for me, not many plumbers around here with a "proper" transit. I would have liked Magnetic Grey but he said they go really quickly so I have the Deep Impact Blue...My current one is Ink blue. Apparently I can pick it up with just a days notice as I have actually been in the one I have bought and they only need to valet it.

As far as spec goes it's a Trend with air con and LED load lights, it's already ply lined too so that's a bonus. It would have been nice to have a few more extras but to be honest I don't really need them. Sat Nav is a good extra on this as it's the touch screen sync3 but it's about £1400

I'm very pleased I've actually done it this time (I've been toying with the idea for about 2 years) because I need a bit more room in the back without tripping over stuff.

So if there is anyone interested in a Mk7 Transit Sapphire in Ink Blue, let me know!!

BTW what colour is yours and what extra spec have you got?

They did an offer last year for free Sat nav, I was well chuffed considering the list price of it.

My favorite extra is lane keep assist. It's pretty useless as a driver aid, but it's the only way to get the high line dash display.

I'm really happy with my choice, the only thing is though it doesn't have DAB which I have been used too. Not the end of the world but it would have been nice!
