My '67 plate Transit with just 458 miles on the clock has just been fitted with four new fuel injectors. The originals were all corroded.
On speaking to the Service Manager, he implied that since the vehicle had been standing for a long period (this is a van conversion project) this could have caused the corrosion. He could'nt give me any guidence on how long you can leave the vehicle without running, but they we were contacting Ford for guidence, since they had another van in with the same problem.
Strangley no hint of any engine problems when the 'Service Required' flagged up on the dash, but now I've lost a little confidence in the vehicle's reliability. Is there a design flaw in this new 2.0TDCI engine?
