Mk8 battery size

Postby Rabfinn » Wed Mar 13, 2024 12:45 am

Hiya, I have a mk8 lwb 2016 2.2 tdci with the battery bolted in under the drivers seat, can anyone tell me the measurements of it to save undoing it then doing it up while I'm waiting on a battery to be delivered please, Thanks in advance

As you've had no response from someone in the know, I would hazard an educated guess that it will be the same as a Mk7:-

A single battery should be 315mm x 175mm x 175mm (110 battery e.g. Bosch S5)

Twin batteries, if fitted, may be a smaller size and capacity, but the larger batteries can still be fitted as the underseat space is the same.

Thanks very much guys I really appreciate it as I said I didn't want to unbolt my fivers seat if it could be avoided, luckily enough after a broken driver door loom broken wire causing a flat battery it was quickly repaired and I put a smart charger on under the bonnet and left it in repair mode and it's looking good, starting no problem. Again thanks very much to you both.
