The modified dip stick is only a recent fix for the problem so you should be ok. Its not a recall yet but is a known fault.

What's so special about the new dipstick as mines had it and it does not look too radical

The modified dipstick is because they have changed the quantity of oil. U will only get the dipstick fitted when they do a oil change

There's a technical bulletin on it so there should only be one procedure they follow. Oil and filter change, pcm update and then check if you have the modified dip stick. If you don't they'll replace that too.

So this modified dipstick, does anyone know how long it is?
I've done the first oil and filter change myself and could it just be a case of fill the sump with new oil until it comes up to the lower end of the original dipstick.
Seems like a load of bollocks if it's got to go to a stealer for the job. Can the replacement be bought from Ford instead?
