Is it possible to turn the LED lights off?

Postby Seamonkey » Wed Jun 28, 2017 10:48 pm

Does anyone if it's possible to turn the LED lights in the cargo bay off? After opening the door and keeping it opened, they stay on for such a ridiculous long time. I know they're designed to do exactly that, but I was wondering if anyone had installed a switch to manually turn them on or off.
The other night I was sitting out of the back doors on my driveway, having a chat and beer with a friend, and those damn things are so bright.

You can probably fit a switch for them, I've got 2 standard interior lights which are bulbs and they are ambient colour and not as bright, it's an option, I've also got hilti strip led lights that are bright as Fook but they are on switches and stay on for 3 days if you let them  but switches too which gives you control, as you say, sometimes you just want the doors open with no lights, i have a portable toilet and i like the lights off when I'm having a wee :? (Not a problem at the moment as there's no windows etc)

The standard LED load lights pull about 3.5 amps on their own. Cabin lights = another amp and my satnav was 0.5 amp charged and off.

I regularly flatten my secondary battery with the load lights....although a 3 years old I suspect both my batteries won't survive this coming winter and I shall be changing them

I've used these in my car. Than you can use every light separately. The black ones in the back need drilling into the plastic, the front ones fit in the holes.

That's a creative solution. Thank you.

change your batteries for something decent. That shouldn't be happening. Ford batteries are expensive and woeful, literally anything with the same or better spec will be better.
