Folding roof rack

Hi just bought a new custom ltd and picking it up Friday,I noticed when leaving the garage it had the roof rack fitted,does anybody know if it can be taken off.

I've only seen pictures but I reckon it bolts to the rack mounting points and folds into the factory roof ribs, I doubt they'd produce a different roof just for the rack option (could be wrong) so wouldve thought you can unbolt it :idea: Put bolts back in the mounting holes with a touch of sealant on the thread or you could end up with leaks !

Could you post some close piccies of the rack system please :D

Will do once I pick it up,unless the dealer decides to remove them as he hasn't included them in the price :?

When you see it you'll probably leave it on, it's quite impressive but very simple. Could be handy one day?
I didn't spec it but glad it came fitted to my dciv.

Thanks Warren :D It does look very neat and as I've said it does look like it can be removed or added 8) IMHO I don't think it would be man enough for people who use there racks day in day out but the odd off/on with a ladder or materials etc then it's a very handy system :D

nut its not my mate had to get a rhino style frame rack on his one, it looks 8)

I'm a fan of the rhino racks :wink: 8) The mrs still isn't aware of what they cost :mrgreen:

I picked my custom up in feb and the roof bars were not on. If anyone does remove then I would be willing to purchase :P

Im due to have my custom sport delivered in March and it does not come with the roof bars which I really want. All the garages (inc the ford garage I am buying it from) tell me it is factory fitted only. Is this true and if not where can I purchase these from?

hi i have a folding roof rack on my ford custom we have actually never used it will be taken it of as we are campering the van it folds down flat when not in use its on a 15 plate ford custom your welcome to have a look at it and make us an offer
