You do not need to change the ends of the springs.
I should be getting my van in the new year and be able to measure the width and spacing of the van ubolt if they are the same you can get one like mine or different heights of the shelf. Ford are good at keeping things the same over the years that's how I Can fit a 2004 focus engine to a type 5 gearbox ( rear wheel drive) and fit it in a 50 year old ford anglia
Getting replacement springs would be better if you can get them but if you use blocks you can pop them out if you need to go back to the dealer

I do not really understand what you mean, were does the blocks go? do i have to put the leafsprings under the axle?

Sorry I could not see you photos on my ipad and my photo did not go with reply
I don't think it will work as they have put spring on top not like the old days. But it does make it stronger.
This is how ford use to build so you could just put a spacer in .A space in yours would make it higher.Image

Decambering the springs is the SAFEST way to do it.
Although why you would bother in a van that you load up with weight is beyond me.

Best to go with an air suspension setup anyway. At least you can adjust the ride height.

You would have to go to somewhere like Rayvern who will do a custom setup. But it will cost a couple of grand at least....

Thank you.
Il wait until something comes on the marked ( plug and play )

I think the car is to low when loaded and also the tailgate shocs seems too be to week now its getting colder.

So all in all you have to be carefull not to bang your head in the tailgate in wintertimes :-(

And if it's too low with your tools in it, it could be overloaded?

When I had a Coach built campervan on the fiat Ducato chassis. It was a Six berth so quite big and so was always running to full weight. I fitted airride (brand name) air suspenion for a couple of hundred quid. They fixed on the chassis and replaced the bump stop. These worked to assist the ride and levelling of a fully loaded van with a large over hang at the rear, they didn't replace the leaf spring. If you were to reshape the existing spring to get a lower ride you could (in theory) us the air ride to assist the springs. Another advantage of these was the ability to alter each side indepenantly to get the right height level and adjustable for about 6". So if you were to load the van you could adjust to the correct ride height.

This is a link ( hopefully) for above, plus they do come up on ebay when campers are scrapped. Have a look at this ebay item number https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290975838027

Hi All,

I am a Nub to this forum as I am doing some research on the new transit before I buy.

Lowering is one of my must haves for which ever van I decide on. Looking at the photos above of the leaf spring assembly, I see that the leaf spring is mounted above the axle. Which means that lowering blocks will not work. The leaf needs to be below the axle to so that block can be installed above the leaf and below the axle, moving the axle closer to the body. Installing a block according to the pics above would push the axle away creating an even bigger wheel arch space. Hope this makes sense...
