And Ford are still refusing to admit there is a problem :x :x

In the first image I just thought your missus took a picture of you working on the van... but I see from your second image that may not be the case ))

They did the warranty work on Friday and I got the oil and filter done while it was in. Noticed oil on the ground yesterday and when I popped the bonnet one of the technical experts hadn't put the dipstick in properly. Pullies, belts, electrics, all soaked. When I rang they asked me to drive it over but when I suggested it may not be a good idea to drive an oil soaked engine which may be internally low on oil...thankfully they sent someone over.

Yes..sprayed everything. They did everything except fit the new dipstick as it hadn't come in yet. So when I saw it yesterday about four inches out of its housing I tried to put it back but it didn't seem to fit so I just presumed it was too long (as the new one is apparently shorter-2ltrs less oil).
My first thought was if they put in the right amount of oil why didn't they just cut it shorter till the new one arrived . When the mechanic just pushed it home it was obvious that it was just a nice tight fit so had just been left loose!!!

All sounds like a bodge up to me, we've always been told that the pull level on the dip stick shouldn't exceed maximum, OK there's a few mm safety margin but how much more is safe? You'd think that does would change the sump to a bigger 1?

2litres of oil and tin snip the dipstick shorter??

Sounds like a Heath Robinson Lash up to me

I thought they changed the holder for the dipstick or the sump plate to accommodate the new dipstick but it was just tight and I didn't want to force it. It was just a tight fit and not put back properly. The new dipstick is just longer to suit the reduced oil level

Eh? So they've put less oil in? That's even worse isn't it? The mk7 ones they put bigger sump on to increase service internals didn't they?.

Smells fishy to me now

30000 miles is way too much, that's from my house to Madame tussauds in London then to your house then back to my house give or take and the miles i do it would take 6 years :? I make a point of not going over 4 years on account that engines tend to frown upon it and decide to retire from service forth with

Maybe it is best to leave them to global warming and just change the oil every year when it's in for its check )
