gianvi, have a look at the following text which is on the back cover of the custom brochure. It might explain things in detail.

Now after 9 months i can show you my real data :

9,48 liter for 100 km means 31Mpg ... veryveryvery far from what advertised as 6,6l/100km --> 47Mpg
i can understand to get a 40Mpg but 31 is a scandal.

For sure i don't drive at 90 km/hours on highway, but still not at 180 km/hour; i think 130 km/hour for a 2015 Tourneo Custom 2200 125CV born as a family van could be considered as a normal driving way.

My 2004 T5 VW Caravelle 2500 130CV get 10 l/km at 150km/hour and 80 at regualr 130km/h.

Some suggestion to get the >40 MPG

I just got (270 limited) 0,97L/10km between two fuelups going between 125-150km/h (60% of the time was around 130km/h) in "dail" speed, not gps speed.
Fully loaded as well (700kg+).

I think that is pretty good.

Some of you maybe interested in this,

I have just done a round trip from Essex to lake Garda, Italy and back, in my 155 H1 L1 DCIV, total mileage , 2013 mls, going by the trip computer it managed the following,
trip to Italy, mileage total 1043, towing an empty boat trailer , approx 350kg in weight, 34.5 mls per gallon, @ 60mph
trip back, mileage 970, towing boat and trailer, approx 1500kg in weight , 31.5 mls per gallon @ 50mph.

I think that's very good !!

Re what gear at 50mph, 50mph was the average over the 970 miles of the the trip home, so to obtain that, most of the time I was traveling in the high 50s low 60s, the van seemed happiest if it was kept above 1700 rpm regardless of gear.
All in all, it never felt as though it had that amount of weight behind it, I am very impressed, the ride quality , the handling, noise, fuel consumption , engine response etc. all very good,. we did the trip over two days each way, so I was driving it for around 500 miles a day, 10 hours, and at the end of each day I didn't have any aches or pains due to being sat in the same place all day . modern vans are just so good..

For better fuel economy you should accelerate downhill and let it off uphill. Use gravity.

It's also a good way of collecting points on your licence :?

i'm also happy with the fuel consumption on my 125hp multi use.

now 3500km on it , and the fuel consumption is pretty good. on highway i'm driving +/- 125km/h mostly on cruise control.

and consumption is for the last 1500km on 7.6l / 100km , pretty good i believe. the van also become good on acceleration . the first 1000km i was thinking of bringing here back in .... but the feeling is good now.

one happy transit custom driver :D

I will update with all my recording of the european tour...but I remeber the best result was 8lt/100km (35mpg)...1000km with a full tank (never happen before)

it was in Holland if I'm right...but the fuel was filled in Normandy...

I recently did a 120 mile run. Cruise set to 65 most of the motorway and with some town driving my Euro 6 recorded just over 45mpg. Can't complain at that. My daily town based driving regularly comes out to 36-38mpg. That's with stuff in the back. Even with the cruise set to 70 it will return 40mpg.
