Transit custom missing a beat / hesitant

Postby Tiny01 » Thu Apr 03, 2014 8:40 pm

Eve gents. ..

Thought that I was imagining things yesterday when I felt the van miss a beat only for a split second like dirty fuel / fuel starvation but then it done it again today , only just over 12k miles I'm not expecting this !

Seems to be at low speeds & whilst just light on the throttle , anyone else experienced this ?

How old is the van, has it had the critical update?

Funny you should say that I spoke to the workshop manager at my dealer two days ago as I have had it 4 or5 times last week and this week. He haven't come across it so I am going to keep my eye on it for few more miles . I find it is fine when I go to work when it is cold in the morning but it happens when I come home when it is warmer in the afternoon.
I think they have gone to lean with the fuel as the air temp warms up. Mine was built in February .
I am getting good mpg so may be they have gone to far the other way with this update. My outside air temp was showing 18 deg is yours ok in the cold ?

I have booked mine in next Friday as it was doing it again today. Fine at 7 am on the way to work but on way home at 3pm it played up.
I spoke to the dealer and they said they need it on the computer to see if it need up dating I was hopping they could tell by the chassis number.
I will up date if they sort it if not any one for a cheap white sport?

Mine does that occasionally, too, though less often since I had the update.

The only update for your van is for SYNC.

Thanks mike , sorry for the questions but how do you tell that mate ?

I think I'll get it booked in with the dealer anyway as it keeps doing tiny little hesitations

I've noticed mine missing a beat when I'm going along at about 40mph :-/

I had mine booked in but canceled as three day before when I refuelled it stopped . It has done it a few time since but only in hot weather. I think it is going to lean. If it is the dealer won't be able to fix it with out ford doing a update to the engine map.
Do sure if ford read these posts but more that report it better chance we have of getting it fixed.
If it is going lean good fuel should help and fill up with shell normal now
