we have just purchased a limited lwb custom, when you unlock the vehicle the lights in the load bay come on, does anyone know if you can manually switch them off, the courtesy light switch in the cab does not seem to have any effect on the load bay lights.

As the switch has double terminals I could do both LED independently from the one switch, ran the wires down the corner pillar to one of the holes that is already there. This is the switch I bought but Black only without light indicator. All it will do is turn the LEDs off and on when they are supposed to be on. It will not give you independent control of the LEDs.

This is the switch is situ.

Yasser, how difficult was it to wire this in bearing in mind I have very little electrical knowledge, cheers.

very simply. both interior lights have their own feed and return, that is, the feed does not go from one and then to the other. All you have to do is take the light out, disconnect the feed wire, get a length of suitable cable with a male spade connector and plug it into the feed female spade connector, route the cable to where you want it and connect to the switch, Then take another length of cable and attach to the load terminal of the switch and then route back to the light ( obviously these steps would be done with suitable twin core cable), Connect a female spade connector onto the cable and then attach to the light. All you have effectively done is put in an "inline switch" Then just repeat the same for the other light. The switch I put the link for has a double pole, so it has 4 terminals. 2 feed and 2 load terminals so you can run both lights from the 1 switch but keep them separate.

Hope that makes sense !

Cheers Yasser, ye pretty much makes sense, how easy is it to get to all the parts of the process you list above?. You say both the lights, I have four sets in mine? two at the front and two at the back, or is that what you mean by both, front and back?,

I Have a DCiV so I only have the 2 rear lights. If you have 4 lights you will have to have 2 switches or find the main feed and switch from there.

I'm still trying to decipher some wiring diagrams,as I would like to disable my lights some times.
I noticed this in the BEM manual ? I need to investigate more.

Ye, it would be nice to find the main feed and be able to just put one switch in???

GOT IT! I FOUND THE MAIN SWITCH... Sort of.
In the drivers cabin there are two over head light units. Both work on the doors. But, the one next to your head has the magic switch. Switching the middle switch to the 0 position leaves the back compartment dark when entering the car via the front door... At least after twenty seconds!

So if you switch this switch to the off position, does it stop the rear LED lights from coming on when you open the doors???

It's a bummer Ford didn't opt for a dedicated switch in the back.
