Custom rear speakers

Postby ojf10000 » Tue Sep 16, 2014 9:54 am

Hi guys, I have a transit custom limited and am wanting to install some rear speakers. I have removed the head unit and found there is rear speaker cables connected. Does anyone know where these run to? Presume they are left spare somewhere? If i can find will save me running new cables in.
On a separate note the front speakers, mids in door, tweeters on pillar. Does anyone know where the cable splits to each tweeter and mid speaker. One pair leaves head unit per side but can not find where the cable splits to door and pillar. Could do with finding to add a crossover which my new component speakers require. The standard speakers have built in filters so crossover will not be fitted as standard.
Thanks
Ollie

I can't help but would like to know! I'm guessing sports maybe come with rear speakers as standard?

Not sure about sport but think the toureno with rear seats has them! Fingers crossed someone will appear with an answer!

I have been down this route, and the wires should run to the rear 1/4

The speakers need to be switched on with that IDS ford unit.

I was lead to believe that the rear speaker wont work other Bluetooth, sounds like total waffle. The guy who told me has done a few ford transit upgrades though (sub/amps and retain stereo)

The phone bluetooth only uses the front speakers, but streaming should use all if they are enabled in the BCM using ids

Ok thanks for that. So the rear speakers need enabling? I was told they would work but if i wanted to use the front/rear fader i would need that activating. Is it only ford who can do that?
Cheers

Not sure if I'd like to plug that into my van, especially when it says its not 100% genuine.
