custom lowering

Postby blueberrygreen » Wed May 27, 2015 2:55 pm

Midland road springs are offering a lowering service on the rear leaf springs.
it's £115 if you send them or £200 to call in and they will take off lower and replace.
just need to tell them how much you want it lowered by.

The front springs are being made with a 50mm drop. I'll let you know how much when I hear back from them but I think it was £120.
These were not by midland road. I think it was a company called coil springs.

Does lowering the van affect the operation of the stability control, roll-over mitigation or load adaptive control?

I'd say yes to all these, especially load adaptive control and poss rear brake load sensing too

As long as it looks good.
I'm not planning on racing it, and the kit we carry is all home tech stuff so weighs naff all but costs the earth.
I'll let you know if it feels different.

The electronics are very sophisticated though, they work without you knowing it. It could (and I'm only guessing) cause the vehicle to do something that you're not expecting even at low speed and cause a crash?

Are your insurance company ok with the mod?

It'll either work, or I'll be painting the roof next.

This is good,

I want this to the rear only as the sport is set up as arce up ! its higher at the rear (roof) than the front, and doest alow me to get under a 2 meter barrier !

I would say a 60mm drop on rear will get me under a 2 mtr barrier.

The electronic systems should have no problem with that as mine already easily fits under 2m barriers with the roof bars fitted but folded down.

Its good to see they still look standard so should help with warranty . I would like my sport to sit lower at the back but only about 50 mm as I use it for towing.

I forgot to ask what spec van you have as the sports look higher at the back.
