Alarm keeps going off

Postby hoggyf » Thu Dec 31, 2015 10:59 am

2013 155 ltd
My alarm keeps setting itself off about once a week, usually in the evening or at night, go and check it and nothing obviously wrong re-set it by unlocking and re-locking it and also fien for another week or so, I always double lock it. Anyone any suggestions or anyone else having similar? It's only started over the last 6 months or so.

CAT 1? Can you disable the pressure sensors to see if they are causing the problem

Mine alarm has gone off in the early hours a few times due to the sat nav falling down and once the side loading door wasn't fully closed.

Have you tried disabling the interior sensor?

If it's set off by the pressure sensors, it could be something as daft as the air vents being left open, and being pressurised by outside wind.
I've had it in my Focus a few times, but I can turn off the sensors separately (with that alarm), but it will still work with the opening of a door.

You can probably unplug your sensors to test this out

Yes under warranty but it's so random it's pointless asking them about it!

When I turn the engine off the computer asks if I want to disable the interior sensors, I think there's a permanent way of doing it as well.
It's worth telling the dealer it's faulty, there may be a common issue they are already aware of. It's never happened to mine.

I'm having the same problem with my Tourneo custom 2.2 15plate. I've not long bought it and I have just sent it to ford to have its service as it's under warranty. I mentioned about my alarm going off and they couldn't find a fault. I love the van but am getting fed up with being woken up once a night sporadically and it happens when I park up late afternoon.

I didn't have the manual so I don't know where to find the pressure valve you talk of.

I've even locked myself in and tried to set off the sensor but it won't go off then!

Any ideas for me or do I need to go back to having a VW that doesn't have the spec of the Ford?

This sounds suspiciously like the problem I had, do you ever get the "bonnet open" warning flash up?
Mine was the micro switch in the bonnet catch, just randomly thinking the bonnet was open.
Not great at 3am on a packet campsite on August Bank holiday haha

Hi

My transit MK6 alarm keeps going off as well.
You have replied here saying it could be the pressure sensors... Can you tell me what are the pressure sensors? where can I find them?
If you mean interior sensors, my transit don't have interior sensors... I think
Thanks in advance
