Hi,

I'm also interested but I'm scared that I will loose the upper OEM screen (my Tourneo came with OEM Navi).

I went to 2 ford dealers and both wasn't able to give me a precise answer about what will happen if I install the Avic, the only sure thing is that the steering wheel commands will still works fine.

I use this 3d to ask also some other stuff:

- with Avic I can use steering wheel commands to enter a destination (or others functionality) ?
- with Avic what happen to the OEM navi screen ?
- with Avic what happen to the OEM handsfree system ?

thanks in advance

Hello

I installed Pioneer AVIC-F60DAB and lots more. Here is the galley link http://imgur.com/a/UvKMP#97. (Few final pics in the end)

Well the upper screen is now only displaying time and parking sensors view.
I would say that the pioneer has much better navigation than ford. Pioneers handsfree is also good.
From steering wheel now I can tune radio stations, volume, mute and answer/decline calls. Cannot enter navigation addresses.
After noise insulation car is alot quieter and much better to take/make calls.

I am happy with the change and the upper screen was pretty crap anyway.

Here is the link to my previous post about the noise insulation and sound upgrade http://fordtransit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=155266&p=1309332#p1309332

I found these informations about the adaptor for AVIC (code CD-FOR-UAR.003):

Vehicle Bus Display Support through CD-FOR-UAR.003 for Ford
• This adapter has been designed to maintain a maximum of functionality when replacing the factory radio by a Pioneer AVIC product on certain FORD vehicle models. The UART terminal is used to convey the DEATC (Dual Electronic Automatic Temperature Control) status information functions only to the Pioneer AVIC for display purposes if the vehicle's original radio is supporting these functions. To avoid any problems, do not connect UART terminal other than with compatible vehicles.
• The FORD voice command system is not supported.
• Depending on vehicle configuration the screen dim function might not be supported.
• It is not possible to replace the FORD DVD Navigation System featuring a 17,8 cm/ 7“ touchscreen
• No data is sent to FORD Convers+ from AVIC.
Compatible Ford Models Ford B-Max 2013 > CD-FOR-UAR.003 Ford C-Max 2011 > CD-FOR-UAR.003 Ford Focus 2011 > CD-FOR-UAR.003 Ford Kuga II 2013 > CD-FOR-UAR.003 Ford Transit 2013 > CD-FOR-UAR.003 Ford Tourneo Custom 2013 > CD-FOR-UAR.003

if the function for heating control is real will be a good thing...

someone can confirm that ?

I went further ... seems that, if the ford car is already equipped with a radio that allow to control the heating system, also this adaptor can allow it.
if not... sadness for us :(

They look a bit better than the Ford option but pricey. I'm very put off by the lack of info on the satnav, which one is it and how much are they charging for updates?
