Ford Sync updates

Hi, how do we update the firmware for Ford Sync here in the UK?

I believe in the states they can download it to USB but not here, as far as I can 'google' the info.

Yeah that's what I thought, pity we are behind the USA who are able to download the firmware.

Posted bout this the other day, still no one has managed to say what an update actually does? Why are they necessary? Can an independant garage update? I try to avoid going to a fraud maindealer,worst customer service ive ever had,while they had my van last they washed my van without me asking,nice of em you may think,until i noticed the idiot that washed it had scratched the whole van on every panel,grrrr,
