The first of your problems - Hill Start Assist, you said is fixed now. Was this "hill start assist not available" ?
How was it fixed or did it just clear itself.

Fixed itself, 'Hill start assist unavailable' came up on the error screens, then the engine management light turned on and stayed on

Went off after 2 days, Ford plugged it in and said nothing was showing

Thanks for that Don Kee, having similar problems, not with regen just hill start assist and engine malfunction light - keeps coming and going - been back to dealer several times.

IM thinking ford are talking shite mate.......it may of had nothing showing but any errors from a warning light comming on should be stored in the ecu and read by ford..

So pops into Ford earlier this morning, turns out I'm booked in for a forced regen (they told me they weren't sure what it could be until I got it to them!!)

Must have been a blocked DPF though as it seems to have worked...

I could be in for some fun if its blocked in under 1500miles eh, guess its an excuse to make sure I rag it about a bit!

Thanks all for your help

good news... I win a fiver too ;)

They will block if they don't get exactly the treatment they need....

Is it instantly much better? Did they do it for free under warranty?

Haha, cheques in the post :P

Its still a little throaty coming back down the revs but substantially better than before and yeah done under warranty, it wasn't even an issue

Had a chat about the DPF with the 'head' mechanic, he reckons the regens either kick in after a preset amount on engine cycles or if the dpf has got to a certain blockage. Problem is, he couldn't be much more specific as apparently it (in his words) "depends on the ecu" (my thoughts are surely someone presets the parameters but what can you do...)

Once you think its regening its a case of keep going for 15mins

I guess the issue is, if you're a stop start every day driver, giving it a blast on a motorway once a month aint always going to be the answer as if the engine doesn't decide to regen (i did 200miles over the weekend and not once did it regen) then you're buggered

My (flawed) logic is, drive it like I stole it everyday..."honest officer, Ford said it'll help my DPF" :D

Haha!

Yes totally agree with your logic!

Hopefully you'll have no further problems but if it blocks again, consider removing it and remapping. I will remove mine if it blocks but i doubt it can block up as it gets a decent pounding ;)

only when it needs it, I find that the throttle response changes and it starts regeneration constantly, I put some in and sorts it out...it's about the same level of oil use as F1 have just changed the rules about
