Adblue fault after 300 miles

Postby Alward1982 » Fri Sep 30, 2016 8:56 pm

300 Miles in from new and Adblue system malfunction, van's lost its guts now and barely accelerated at one point today. not to mention 4 times parking sensors didn't work, not even had it a week.
Got rid of the old one because of numerous minor faults. not a good start for Custom ownership again, maybe in I should have listened to the merc man and his offer of reliability

2K on mine with not a bother... thought the fuel gauge was broken but it's just slower than the landcruiser. ..I'll learn to live with it!!

Well you will buy the tester vans hot off the line

I'm still getting used to not putting tall cans and cups in my mk7 cup holders as they do a back flip into my door pocket upside down.

Mines been good to be fair too , odd parking sensor error which one of my old ones had . Drives very well and economical with a bit of low down lag if off the revs but that's about it . Very economical and very quick in general . Sat nav is good etc etc

Merc reliability are you sure ? Our 63 plate Vito in 270,000 miles has had to have both side loading door latches replaced

I did not want a euro6 custom and have had my 270 Limited Euro5 just 2 weeks.
2.2 litre diesel.
125bhp

No faults so far.

Now covered 1000 miles. The mpg is averaging 34.2

Wondering how this compares to Euro6 ?

maybe in I should have listened to the merc man and his offer of reliability

Is that any different to listening to the Ford man and his offer of reliability?

2 1/2 weeks later the EGR valve was replaced once the garage got the tools to fit it, and Ford had to send their own engineer to code it to the van to make it work. apparently its the only van in the country to have had this issue so hopefully its not going to be a common fault

Not the only van. 2 1/2 months old L3 H3 with <2,000 miles and it went into Adblue Malfunction mode yesterday!
Will keep you posted.
I got rid of last 64 reg L3 H3 due to minor faults and battling with Ford to repair sagging doors.
Mercedes next time!

I got a warning to change the oil at about 4k km which was reset by the dealer but done 10.5k km without any mention of ad blue ?? Seems a bit strange as I believe the ad blue tank range is supposed to be around 6k miles??

Based on that I should have ran out at 8k klms. It's either not using the ad blue or using very little. Must try dipping the tank.

Maybe the sensor isn't picking up or the computer is keeping it a secret. That's why I originally thought the oil condition light that the dealer reset was an ad blue mix-up ))

In colder weather in the heavier engines (trucks) adblue dosess less /switches off as theoreticly below 5*c air quality is good enough that its not required I think that all systems are similar in set up theres 18 trucks in the yard and theres not much used in and around cold temperatures . Its worth checking the atomizer on the ex as they fur up a dip in boiling water cures this the pipework is also heated and if it goes open curcuit adblue wont work even though its not active at low temp
