Rubber load liner

Postby Bmwalex » Wed Nov 23, 2016 10:03 pm

I have a rubber load liner in my new custom

Any ideas what type of screws are best to use to screw into it not really wanting to go as far as the metal floor thought

The only Standard rubber floor I know of in the back is in a DCiV (limited or above). Have you got a DCiV?, or is it plastic. What ever it is, if its sitting on the metal floor, whatever the thickness of the liner is the length of the screws. If you have a DCiV (limited or above) that used to have a false floor on polystyrene blocks. I cant remember the exact measurement but if you take the end plastic bit off that covers the door catch on the floor for rear doors (only 6 screws) you will see.

If its the DCIV Ltd rear floor , it's 10mm thick MDF type board sitting polystyrene spacers giving around 10 mm clearance between the bottom of the board and the high parts of the fluted steel floor.

I put 18mm ply on top of the load liner and screwed into that.

Does anyone know of a good carpet rear load liner for a lwb. I had a "BedRug" in my last Navara and it was spot on. It stopped things sliding around.

I put Rawson Hercules entrance matting in mine and it does the trick. In fact it can be difficult to get the stuff you want to drag along it. Any form of rough entrance matting would do it.
