Condensation on inside of windscreen

Postby sergeantcookie » Wed Jan 04, 2017 5:43 pm

I have a 64 plate custom. Only had it a couple of months. I seem to get a bit of condensation water droplets on the inside of the windscreen running down from around the top centre. More than I have experienced in any other vehicle. By the looks of things it has suffered before I had the vehicle as there are feint water marks. I did have it booked in at ford's for water ingress but my mate said keep an eye on it as the chances are they won't find anything wrong with it.

Does anybody else suffer from this?

Thanks

Mine doesn't leak, maybe check the aerial seal.

Does it have roof racks fitted? only reason i ask is because i had some roof rails on and they didnt seal right on the roof and water was tracking along the the seam on the inside and finding its way into the cab area dripping where the roof lining meets the windscreen.
I changed the rails for roof racks with better seals and the problem was fixed.

Mine has the same problem. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does its a considerable amount. The only thing I can put it down to is possibly damp floor matts.

Usually condensation is from a damp source inside the vehicle. I get it when i take rubbish to to dump using the car and if i load it up the night before the windscreen is running with water next morning

Same here.
Four weeks old and exactly as OP describes.
Will be emailing dealer with pictures.

Nice van otherwise.

For a vehicle of just under 2 years old I wouldn't expect it?

Mine has just started doing this also! Just under a year old.... I think the condenser from the AC lets back some moisture into the cab myself... I am still experimenting, but big bags of silica gel or a pair of tights filled with rice around the cab does help.... silica bags look a lot less "suspect" than the tights tho! :?

I put silica bags above the steering wheel before it meets the dash, but to do the job properly they literally need to be on the dash itself.... crap for a new van though as you all say. :(

Also just ordered these... a friend uses them in a leaky old Jag and they work a treat....

I'll report back if they do the job.

I have had ice form on the back of the headlining light fitting.

Cold air hits the metal roof then cools any condensation water up there.

Front screen is so bad in the mornings but van is used for window cleaning. - damp :)
