As discussed, how long since you zeroed it?
It's not accurate enough that you can reset it at each fuel up.

It hadn't been zeroed for over 10k miles and it's showing very close to the genuine mpg figure. If you reset it every tankful it'll only be accurate for that tank. Why would it be accurate over 10k miles but inaccurate over 600miles?

Because it isn't?
I've tried it so many times that I lost count.

Even you said that it's more accurate over time;

Of course, if we're talking about an average. More data = more accurate results. The short term results won't be miles out though. If you average 1 tank your results will be affected by how full you fill the tank, it's your results that will be off, not the vans computer. It's all very well saying you fill it until the pump clicks off, but different pumps fill at different rates, so they'll click off at different times.

As the other thread, I fill up at the same pump.

A difference in 7 liters between each full fill up seems impossible.

Are you talking about Short term after every fill? Nowadays you will never get an accurate reading just using the figures you have at hand. When calculating it manually you used to be able to fill up at the same pump to the exact same level in the vehicle tank giving you a fairly accurate amount of fuel used. Its very hard nowadays to actually calculate how much fuel is used because you cannot guarantee you are filling it to the same level every time because you cannot see the fill point. You Cannot rely on the trigger shut off to fill to the exact same spot every time, which will then give you varying amounts of fuel to calculate with.

Edit, Sorry bit late with this reply, Mike covered it.

Should I quote myself again?

A difference in 7 liters between full fillups is impossible.

You because that's how much it's off if the happy-o-meter is correct.

I didn't say that. I also said this
Mike wrote:Just because yours is sh*t..
when I replied to Deano.

I was pointing out that just because some seem to be unrealistic doesn't mean that they all are. Also, as ponted out by others (not just me) it's extremely difficult to fill up to exactly the same point every time. So using the Road Trip takes out the inaccuracies, and in my case shows that the van mpg readout is all but spot on.

But feel free to keep banging on :?:

Yes, it's hard to fill exactly the same every time but like I said, 7 liters off is a lot.
