Aftermarket Suspension

Postby Blunny » Mon Jan 16, 2017 12:17 am

Anyone know if any of the big brands have released any struts / shocks to suit the new Customs? I can see lowering springs but would also love some decent struts shocks to match.

The M sport uses Eibach so they clearly make them but I'm not sure if its just springs

That's not the case anymore. M Sports are not lowered.

It's disappointing really. Sales of the Customs will probably quadruple in Australia when they finally release an auto down here. Really hope the suspension people hop on board as I bet the Custom will develop a "private" use owner following like the Transport / Vito.

Could you buy the parts from Van Sport or a Ford dealer that sells the M shite vans?

So is mine, I was told they aren't lowered anymore to allow fitment of 20 inch wheels should the customer decide to upgrade.

Ok that's interesting, I considered the 20's but was told they were £1,200 + tyres +'vat and that they could not fit them as they don't have approval. Instead they would put them in the back and I could fit them and do whatever I wanted with my 18 inch wheels as long as I didn't sell them on eBay. I did point out that they couldn't stop me putting them on the bay but at the same time wasn't going to waste £2.5k on slightly bigger wheels which would probably give a worse ride.

I don't disbelieve you though as it has become quite apparent that Van Shite make it up as they go along.

I spoke to Vansport today and was told the M-Sports are all still on lowered spring and Eibach dampers. I asked them if it was possible to replace them with standard units.

i don't believe ford produce a van with the off chance that less than 0.05% of owners will buy aftermarket 20" wheels to make it look lower !!!??

Eibach won't sell springs because they make them under contract for M Sport - i've rang them and asked when i was lowering mine

You have to have everything custom made
