What is slightly odd, is that the fuel computer on the Mk7 is reporting an average of 35.6mpg, and my 'working out' makes it nearer to 32, which is more or less the same as the Mk6

Yes the gearing is a tad high 4.188/3.045 ? Mine never revs over 2k
70mph is about 1700 rpm ish not like the old arsewash 2000 that was 3000rpm at 65
