Custom SWB Crewcab bulkhead removal

Postby TimGuyUK » Mon Mar 06, 2017 12:36 pm

Hi Guys

I haven't got a tranny yet but am considering it (or a Ranger). Actually my car just sh@t its coolant all over the carpark so maybe quicker than I thought,

My lads into motorcross and carrying a 50cc mx bike in the back of the Vectra is getting harder and harder. That and Ive got road bikes and could use a van

Anyhow..

Ive read the threads about the length bed with the crewcab bulk head and I did see a couple of posts saying "Ive removed mine" but whats the finish like when its removed?, and how easy was it to remove?

I'd imagine a 50cc mx bike should go in diagonally in the back of a DCIV. I can get 6ft fence panels in across the diagonal and my full size MTB goes in right across the bulkhead with the front wheel off. Removing the bulkhead won't give you that much more space...

I got a local camper conversion place to carpet mine out and blend it all into the rear headlining once the bulkhead was out, cost me 200 quid but its spot on now, its a lot more practical now

Cheers guys

The blending sounds interesting.

Do the seats lift out or can you only tip them forward?

No, the seats are bolted in , no tilt or quick release.
