Confused over 18" Wheels for 2017 Tourneo Custom?

Hi guys,

This is my first post.....

I'm taking delivery of a 2017 Tourneo Custom Zetec in Panther Black next week. The wheels as standard are 15" wheels with wheel caps which don't look great.

I'm hoping to put 18" wheels on it but I'm unsure on load ratings etc. I've been looking around it appears the loads are different to a Transit Custom, probably due to the rear seats.

Has anyone put 18" wheels on their Tourneo? If so what wheels and what were the tyres?

yes i did, then i told my insurer and they cancelled my insurance on the spot.
Be careful to check with your insurance company before you do the change.
the lower profile tyres also make for a more bumpy ride.
i prefer mine with the stock ally wheels as the ride feels nicer. its also hard to find the load rated tyres for that size of wheel diameter and width.

up to you though if you feel its worth it.

Buy the 18 inch alloys of the Sport. They make Tourneos in Sport edition now, so it shouldn't be a legal problem. They cost around 304 GBP a piece.
Also, are you sure you'll get a Panther Black? I thought Ford cancelled that color and introduced Shadow Black instead.

Ride, handling and braking all spot on. Had to get a local tyre fitter to swap the TPS's over but other than that fine.

No lol, they look like the Mondeo st ones but as we all know the Mondeo or connect pcd isn't compatible so they are just aftermarket rip off wheels, i had them on my mk7, they come in silver, gunsmoke and chrome or 2 tone.

16 inch were originally rated at 1250kg same as 18in but later were all appearing as 1000kg (God forbid how they found that out )

I like them tho, highest 18in tyre load rating i found was 255 55 18 109 v iirc but they were only good for lwb rwd (+9mm od to 215 75 16) not suitable for 15 wheel replacement.
