I've used it to power a set of 2-way JL TR650 CSi speakers. It's an improvement over the standard speakers but the headunit gets upset over 3/4 volume, adding an amp makes a huge difference ime.

is it easy adding a amp to this set up?

my last units was a alpine that you could take the front off.

Relatively easy, you can get a lead to provide the connections you need without cutting the van loom. Just pop the facia off and take out the CD player, unplug the factory plug and put the lead in its place, then take the speaker wires to wherever you want to put your amp.

No, there isn't any line level output form the headunit, you have to use high level into a suitable amp.

There's a pic of one here viewtopic.php?f=27&t=140683&start=60#p1272994
